Lending Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-17
This Lending Policy describes the eligibility requirements, the nature of the service, and the state availability rules that apply to loan requests submitted through sunrisefinace.com.
1. Eligibility
To use this service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama and Nebraska).
- Be a legal United States resident.
- Reside in a state where the service is available (see Section 3).
- Have a verifiable source of income, a valid checking account, and a working phone number and email address.
2. sunrisefinace.com is not a lender
sunrisefinace.com does not make credit decisions and does not lend money. We transmit your request to one or more participating lenders or lending partners in our network. Each lender independently evaluates your request and decides whether to extend credit on terms set by that lender.
3. State availability
This service is not currently available to residents of: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Vermont, Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Arkansas, Arizona. State availability is subject to change without notice. Individual lenders in our network may further limit availability based on state, product, or borrower profile.
4. APR and product framing
Annual Percentage Rates (APR) for short-term and small-dollar loans offered by lenders in our network vary widely by lender, product, state of residence, and the borrower's creditworthiness. Short-term loans typically carry significantly higher APRs than longer-term installment loans and may exceed 200% APR depending on the lender, product, and state. Tribal lenders may exceed state usury caps. Always review the lender's full disclosures and the Truth in Lending Act statement before accepting any offer.
See Rates & Fees for representative pricing and worked examples.
5. Renewal, refinance, and rollover
Renewal, refinance, and rollover policies are set by the lender, not by sunrisefinace.com. Some states prohibit or limit rollovers. Read your lender's loan agreement for the exact policy that applies to your loan.
6. Credit reporting and impact
Initial inquiries by the lender for matching purposes may be "soft" inquiries that do not affect your credit score. If a lender extends an offer and you accept, the lender may perform a "hard" inquiry that may affect your score. Payment history on any resulting loan may be reported to consumer reporting agencies, including alternative bureaus such as Teletrack, DataX, Clarity, MicroBilt, and FactorTrust. Late payments may negatively affect your credit score.
7. Late payment, default, and collections
Late-payment fees, default charges, and collections practices are set by the lender. Lenders are required to comply with applicable federal and state law, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If you cannot make a payment on time, contact your lender directly to discuss options before the payment is due.
8. Implications of nonpayment
Nonpayment may result in (a) additional fees and interest, (b) negative reporting to consumer reporting agencies, (c) referral to a collections agency or attorney, and (d) in some cases legal action against you for the unpaid balance, depending on the lender's policy and state law.
9. Military Lending Act
Federal law provides important protections to members of the Armed Forces and their dependents relating to extensions of consumer credit. In general, the cost of consumer credit to a member of the Armed Forces and his or her dependent may not exceed an Annual Percentage Rate of 36 percent. This rate includes, as applicable to the credit transaction or account: the costs associated with credit insurance premiums; fees for ancillary products sold in connection with the credit transaction; any application fee charged (other than certain application fees for specified credit transactions or accounts); and any participation fee charged (other than certain participation fees for a credit card account).
